A successful Account Generalist will ensure accurate processing and recording of company’s payroll, account analysis, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and other finance projects. A successful Account Generalist will ensure accurate processing and recording of company’s payroll, account analysis, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and other finance projects.

 

Responsibilities:

 
  1. Perform daily payroll processing, payroll distribution, and payroll tax compliance, disbursements, software testing, reporting, and resolving issues and exceptions on a timely basis.
  2. Assist with implementing and/or streamlining procedures within the department to facilitate efficient processing of payroll data, customer service standards; resolving system and employee related issues.
  3. Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for about 350 employees, both union and non-union.
  4. Preparation of Journal entries, account analysis, and bank reconciliations.
  5. Record keeping for donations and grants.
  6. Maintain accurate records, including ledgers, journals, receipts, and invoices.
  7. Interacts with all departments to ensure accurate financial information is received in a timely manner.
  8. Assist with preparation for annual audits
  9. Perform administrative and other tasks as needed.
 

Qualifications:

 
    1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is highly desirable.
    2. 1-2 years of working experience with payroll systems, ADP preferred, but not required.
    3. Intermediate MS Excel a must
    4. Union and non-union environment a plus
    5. Decision-making, problem solving, and analytical skills.
    6. Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills a must.
    7. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
    8. Ability to work independently as well as with a team
    9. Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material.
Salary Range $70,000 to $75,000
