A successful Account Generalist will ensure accurate processing and recording of company’s payroll, account analysis, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and other finance projects. A successful Account Generalist will ensure accurate processing and recording of company’s payroll, account analysis, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and other finance projects.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with implementing and/or streamlining procedures within the department to facilitate efficient processing of payroll data, customer service standards; resolving system and employee related issues.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for about 350 employees, both union and non-union.
- Preparation of Journal entries, account analysis, and bank reconciliations.
- Record keeping for donations and grants.
- Maintain accurate records, including ledgers, journals, receipts, and invoices.
- Interacts with all departments to ensure accurate financial information is received in a timely manner.
- Assist with preparation for annual audits
- Perform administrative and other tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is highly desirable.
- 1-2 years of working experience with payroll systems, ADP preferred, but not required.
- Intermediate MS Excel a must
- Union and non-union environment a plus
- Decision-making, problem solving, and analytical skills.
- Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills a must.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team
- Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material.
